Born and raised in Singapore, I embarked on a career in Information Technology upon graduation from the University of Singapore. After 28 years in the field of Information Technology, I felt the need for a change. Motivated by T.S. Eliot's adage, "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go where there is no path and leave a trail," I pursued my interest in art by undertaking a 3 year, full-time programme at Emerson College in Sussex, England in 2003. I completed the course in visual arts and sculpture with an exhibition of my artworks in June 2006. Soon after, once again taking Eliot's adage to heart, I took another path, this time to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia for a 20-month stay. While working as a volunteer art-and-craft teacher at the Lotus Children's Centre (, I held a solo art exhibition of 26 oil paintings to raise funds for the Centre. Now, retired from full-time employment, I have made the South Wales Valleys my home. I continue to develop my skills in painting and enjoy taking short breaks to travel.
